Cleanup & Catch-Up

Bookkeeping Cleanup and Catch-Up

When books have fallen behind or drifted out of consistency, they need to be brought back to a reliable baseline before anything else is worth doing. Eccountrio handles historical bookkeeping cleanup, reclassification, reconciliation cleanup and ongoing optimization.

What's included

  • Historical bookkeeping cleanup
  • Reclassification support
  • Reconciliation cleanup
  • Ongoing bookkeeping optimization

How it works

A cleanup rebuilds trust in a ledger that has stopped being reliable. The usual work is the same in most files: reconcile every bank and credit-card account back to the last date the balances were provably correct, reclassify transactions that were coded to the wrong account or dumped into a catch-all, remove duplicates, and clear the suspense and opening-balance-equity accounts that accumulate when a file is set up or migrated carelessly. Catch-up is the related case where the books are accurate as far as they go but simply stop several months ago.

Who this is for

  • Businesses several months or more behind on their books
  • Owners who need clean books for a lender, buyer or tax filing
  • Anyone inheriting a QuickBooks Online file they do not trust

Cleanup & Catch-Up — questions

My books are a year behind. Can that be fixed?

+
Yes. Historical bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up is a core service, covering reclassification support, reconciliation cleanup and ongoing bookkeeping optimization once the file is current.

How is cleanup priced?

+
Historical cleanup and complex catch-up work are quoted separately from the recurring plans, because the effort depends on how far behind the file is and how consistently it was maintained. Hourly support is $8 per hour.

What happens after the cleanup is done?

+
The file moves onto a recurring plan — Monthly, Bi-Weekly or Weekly — so the books stay at the baseline the cleanup established rather than drifting again.
